The By-Laws of the Maine Association of Chimney Service Professionals

Article 1- Name, Logo, and Offices
  • 1.1  Name
    The name of this organization is the Maine Association of Chimney Service Professionals, incorporated, hereafter designated as "the Organization".
  • 1.2  Logo, seal. trademarks, and other indicia.
    • 1.2.1  This Organization may adopt a logo, seal, trademark, or other indicia suitable for it's intended use as it deems appropriate.
    • 1.2.2  Such a logo, seal, trademark, or other indicia shall be kept in the custody of the officers of the Organization.
    • 1.2.3  Members in good standing, with the permission of the officers of the Organization, shall have the right to use or display the logo, seal, trademark, or other indicia, provided that the Organization is not thereby demeaned.
  • 1.3  Offices
    The principle office of the organization shall be at a location or at locations designated by the officers of the organization.

Article 2- Objectives
The slogan and the objectives of the organization were adopted June 22, 2004.

    Working Together for Knowledgeable, Safe, and Professional Services
  • 2.2  Objectives
    • 2.2.1  To develop relationships among professionals in Maine chimney service industries.
    • 2.2.2  To promote professionalism in Maine chimney service industries
    • 2.2.3  To anticipate the possibility of licensing requirements and to have a voice and an influence in the development of standards in the state of Maine.
    • 2.2.4  To promote chimney service industries among other professional organizations such as chambers of commerce, real estate associations, advocates for the elderly, and other key groups in Maine.
    • 2.2.5  To develop skills and promote the safe use of tools and equipment through educational events and presentations.

Article 3- Membership
  • 3.1  Regular Membership
    The membership of the organization may include service persons, masons, retailers, distributors, and manufacturers involved in the production. distribution, and application of goods and services related to chimney service and restoration, and hearth industries in the state of Maine.
  • 3.2  Associate Membership
    Any individual or organization that does not fall into one of the above categories, section 3.1, but has an interest in chimney construction, chimney service and restoration, and hearth industries in the state of Maine.
  • 3.3  Admission to Membership
    Application for membership shall be made in writing on forms supplied by the officers of the Organization, and shall be subject to approval by the officers of the Organization.
